Just Us Girls #441 - Color Week

Hello everyone!  Have you been watching the Royal Wedding?  I woke up at 5:00 am!  I did the same for the weddings of Diana, Sarah, and Kate.  I love watching them...always have!

Anyway onto the Just Us Girls color challenge.  I'm the hostess this week, and I chose these colors.  They are the colors in my duvet and I just love them.

Here's a picture of my inspiration.

And this is what I came up with.  I used the colors to stamp these pretty images.  The gray was used to stamp the spray.  Then I used navy to stamp the large and small roses and some of the smaller ones, which were stamped off first to get a lighter color.  Aqua was used to once again stamp more of the smaller flowers and the filler flowers.  The sentiment was stamped in navy.  I added silver sequins.  This main panel was mounted on fun foam and then onto fog cardstock.  I'm going to a bridal shower next weekend and I think this will make a perfect card for the occasion.

Just Us Girls #440 - Trend Week

Hi everyone!  It's Trend Week over at Just Us Girls and Angie has us using stencils!

I literally have a drawer full of stencils of all kinds!  I chose this butterfly one from a recent Simon Says Stamp kit and instead of using it with ink, I used some Cosmic Shimmer texture paste.  I got it at my LSS and the price tag was placed over the color names, so I'm not sure of that.  But it's a green one and a blue one!  I put some of the green paste on the top two butterflies then mixed some of the green with the blue for the middle one which then transition to the bottom two butterflies in blue.  I had a hard time finding some pattern paper to match, but ended up with this plaid one.  I die cut the hello die four times in white and once in the green.  I added some green and blue crystals.

Time Out #109 - Inspired by Words Challenge

Hi friends!  The new Time Out challenge is our Inspired by Words challenge.  This is a good one for spring with all the beautiful flowers starting to bloom.

We are sponsored by Stamplorations for this challenge, and I'm using their products.  I started by taking a piece of cardstock and inking it direct to paper with Faded Jeans distress ink.  I die cut the pocket from that paper.  Then I took the Dots All Over stencil and inked the corner with Squeezed Lemonade oxide ink.  The flowers were inked with Memento markers and stamped onto the paper.  The sentiment was then stamped in blue ink.  I took the Faded Jeans ink and Squeezed Lemonade ink and again did direct to paper for the mats.  I added yellow crystals for some sparkle.  The pocket and main panel are popped up with fun foam.

Just Us Girls #439 - Word Week

Hey there!  We have a great word for Word Week over at Just Us Girls.  Sue has chosen the word "shadow" as the word.  Lots of opportunities for inspiration!

I happened to come upon an older video from Jennifer McGuire and she did a technique that she called shadow stamping.  I have to admit that I shamelessly cased her cards!  To make this technique work, you need a layering stamp set.  I used this set from Simon Says Stamp/WPlus 9 called Many Thanks.  I put the first layer in the MISTI and stamped it with white pigment ink.  Then I turned the cardstock around and stamped it again.  Then I placed the second layer onto the first (after the ink had dried) and stamped it with a coordinating ink to match the cardstock.  So you get the white ink as the shadow, a lighter color that was stamped over the white ink with the colored ink, and a darker ink color.  Here I used Calypso Coral cardstock and Tutti Frutti ink.  Each card has a different sentiment stamped in Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder.  Clear crystals finished them off.

Here I used Parrot ink and Lucky Limeade cardstock.

Here's one with Bermuda Bay cardstock and ink.

And this last one uses Melon Mambo cardstock and ink.
