Just Us Girls #195 - Wild Card Challenge - Tag You're It!

Hi crafty friends!  This month over at Just Us Girls, we have an extra week of challenges and that means the hostess gets to choose any challenge she wants to throw at us!  Elise is our hostess this week, and she has challenged us to make a set of 4 coordinating tags.  What a fun challenge!  I love tags, and now I have some on hand to attach to a gift.  I may even enter one of these in our local county fair in August!
Here is my set of tags.  Lots of stuff going on with each of them.  I love how colorful they are!

First of all, each tag was run through Papertrey Ink's Linen and Canvas Impression Plate (the canvas side) and each has a large white eyelet in the top.  I used PTI's Back Pocket Basics stamp set for a 4 tags as well.  The base of this tag is poppy parade cardstock.  The pockets were die cut from both white cardstock and two different fabric pieces.  I stamped the fabric with the detail stamp with Versafine onyx black ink and then glued it to the cardstock.  On this one I colored the flowers with copic markers and added the bling for the centers.  The little posies tag coming from the pocket was stamped in wild wasabi ink.  The white piece was stamped with the first part of the sentiment in the Versafine ink and then the Posies sentiment in real red.  The ric-rac ribbon is a lime green felt.

This was done in the same manner as the one above, except I used a different fabric and the sun and face stamps.  I added star dust stickles to the rays.  The sun was colored with copic markers and the little sunshine tag on the pocket was stamped with tangerine tango ink.

The base of this tag is lucky limeade cardstock.  I changed up the ribbon using a red and white gingham.  The little sunshine tag on the pocket and the sentiment on the bottom were stamped in daffodil delight.  This tag was supposed to say "Sunshine" instead of "Birthday Wishes".  I messed up!

Same tag as above.  The ink used on the little tag is real red.  This one should have been stamped with the "Birthday Wishes" instead of "Sunshine".  Oh well!

Inspired By and Unscripted Sketch

I love being on summer vacation because I'm so inspired to create.  During the school year I have to drag myself into my basement to stamp!  I saw this picture on the Inspired By challenge blog and just had to play.  Just so pretty!

So the first thing that caught my eye was the lamp shade.  I made a rosette from red gingham paper to match the shade.  Then I just used the colors.  I saw black, white, and gray in the photo so I used riding hood red, smoky slate, and Neenah white cardstock as my base.  The black and white dp is from SU's retired Night and Day.  I added the red pinked circle on top of the rosette and ran it through the swiss dots folder and then a black gingham bow.  The sentiment is from Papertey Ink's Stylish Sentiments: Birthdays.

I used this sketch from Unscripted Sketches.  I was so inspired by those rectangle shapes.  I had to do some math to figure out the sizes of them!

Papertrey Ink June 2013 Blog Hop

Hi crafty friends!  I'm participating in today's Papertrey Ink's June Blog Hop!  Today the challenge is to add a touch of gold.  I tried a couple of things before I came up with my final card.
So here's what I came up with.  I took inspiration from a couple of the pictures in the graphic.  I chose the Polka Dot Basics stamp set to emboss the gold dots.   I paired it with this chevron paper from PB&J by Basic Grey.  It looks black, but it's actually a dark navy blue.  The butterfly was cut with the Butterfly Kisses die and then stamped with the coordinating image from the same set in Versamark and embossed in gold.  I added some gold bling for its body and more gold by added the ribbon.  The sentiment is from Vintage Picnic and was stamped and embossed in gold onto a flag die from WPlus9.  All this gold made me dizzy!

I'm on day 2 of my summer vacation and it is so nice to wake to the birds chirping rather than an alarm clock!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Just Us Girls #194 - Photo Inspiration Challenge

Hi all!  I'm a little late with my Just Us Girls post, but I've been busy enjoying my first days of summer vacation!  I headed right for my cabin on Friday afternoon after leaving school for a couple of days, then went to my friend Maria's for a girls gone wild pool party!  It really wasn't wild, but we girls had a fun time!

Vicki is our hostess with the mostess this week, and I think she has chosen my most favorite photo of all to date!  I love sunflowers (take a look at my blog header!), so even though I'm a few days late for the challenge, I had to get one done!

I chose this fabulous Sunflowers stamp set from Flourishes.  It's great because all the shading is done for you.  Their flower sets are amazing!  I just love them!  I stamped the image twice then cut out the flower part with a circle nestie keeping the circular theme of the photo.  I colored both images with copic markers then mounted the circle onto the main image with dimensionals.  The dp is Graphic 45.  I added lots of layers and Star Dust Stickles on the flower center and the ladybugs.  A button and some ribbon and I was done!

Just Us Girls #193 - Color Challenge

Hi friends!  There's a great color challenge going on over at Just Us Girls this week!  Nancy is the hostess with the mostest this week and the colors she chose are
Aqua, Harvest Gold, Kraft, and White.

I needed a card for my father-in-law for Father's Day.  I really like this card I made for him.  It seems when I make a card with someone in mind, it seems to always come together extra special!  My FIL really won't see this card because he is 90% blind.  He has glaucoma and has had some botched surgeries.  I feel so sorry for him, but he never complains.  That's why I always want to make special cards for him.

I started by choosing the Super Star stamp set from WPlus9.  I embossed the starburst with white embossing powder onto kraft cardstock and then cut it out with a round nestie.  I backed it with another circle from So Saffron cardstock (I didn't have Harvest Gold).  The banner was hand cut from Aqua Mist cardstock and I ran it through a star embossing folder.  The striped background was stamped with Sahara Sand and So Saffron ink with a stamp from Background Basics:  Retro Papertrey Ink stamp set.  I used the Monarch Border die from My Favorite Things in So Saffron and added it to the striped paper.  The "Dad" stamp is from the Super Star set and was embossed in aqua ep from Zing and cut with a scalloped rectangular nestie.  The ribbon is SU's kraft taffeta and the little tag is a Martha Stewart punch.  The sentiment is from Super Star as well stamped in Sahara Sand.  The saffron and aqua stars are from the Western Star Border die from MFT.  They are the negative pieces.   This is a larger 5" x 5" card.

I used this sketch from Deconstructed Sketch as inspiration for the card.  It seems I haven't made a card with lots of layers in a while and it felt good to do a more intricate card!

Just Us Girls #192 - Technique Challenge

Hi there!  We have a great challenge going on at Just Us Girls.  Our technique challenge this week is to use washi tape on your creations!  It's all the rage lately and there are so many designs of washi tape too!

We are being sponsored this week by Modes4u too!

Here's some information about the company:

Modes4u is an online shop for cute stationery, fabrics, Bento lunch boxes, DIY clay sets, Re-Ment miniature toys and accessories, which are imported from Japan and the USA. The company based in Hong Kong was founded in 2007 by Managing Director Sandra Boch and always stocks several thousand kawaii products. Modes4u is an official San-X online retailer offering free international shipping for purchases over EUR 60 / US$78 / ₤ 54. The online shop is especially active in the field of social media, having more than 60,000 Fans on Facebook, over 4,000 followers on Twitter and an English and German company blog.

The item we are sponsoring from the company is washi tape.  Here are some links to the product:

I wanted to make a bright and sunny card today.  Summer is almost here and I love sunny days!  So I used this new set from Reverse Confetti called I Like You.  The paper is called Hello Sunshine from Bo Bunny.  I mounted the senitment and patterned paper on Daffodill Delight cardstock.  I added some washi tape to the sentiment panel and then some Liquid Pearls in cantaloupe color.

This is the sketch I used from Sketch For You to Try and Reverse Confetti.

So, do you want to win some washi tape?  Play along with our challenge using washi tape (or make your own washi tape - see the JUGs blog for links to tutorials).  Two random winners will win 3 rolls of washi tape from Modes4u!

Hi there friends!  Yesterday the My Time Made Easy design team posted their Year in Review projects and I thought we were posting today, so I goofed!  I also don't have a new project done because it was kind of a busy day yesterday (fun, but busy!).  So, I decided to post some of my favortie projects made over the last almost 3 years I've been on the team.  Why?  Well, this will be my last post as a MTME designer.  I felt it was time.  The new team Lauren has put together is fantastic, and I felt like it was the right time to leave.  So I'm going to leave you with some of my favorite projects.

My Time Made Easy Release Day and Just Us Girls #191 Sketch Challenge

Hey there friends!  Busy day on the blog today!  Today is the June release from My Time Made Easy and a new sketch challenge from Just Us Girls.  I'll get to that in a minute.  Here's my project for today.  Let's get into the template first.

This is the Welcome Home template, which was previously released.  I've used it quite a few times, once making it into a dog house by cutting off the chimney.   The new product on it is the paper.  It's called Tiny Town.  I have to say that the pictures don't do it justice!  I hate that!  I distressed it quite a bit because it was just too white and clean!  LOL!!  I cut the heart out of the center of the front panel using the BFF Valentine Tags cut file and added a piece of green paper behind it.

Here's a top view so you can see the pretty bow.  The template actually opens from the top.

Now for the card.  This is the great sketch that our lovely Elise created for us this week.

I used the same papers as in the template.  The house was cut using the new Home Sweet Home digital stamp set on the Tiny Town paper.  The image in the set has a heart in the center, so I cut a heart from the green paper using the BFF Valentine Tags cut file.  The sentiment is also from the new Home Sweet Home digital stamp set.  Lots of distressing here too!

I have lots of blogs for you to visit from both teams.  First us is the MTME team.

And here are blogs from the JUGs team.
