My Time Made Easy - December Release Preview Day 1

Hi everyone!  Today begins a new Pretty Palette challenge and the start of previews for the December My Time Made Easy release!  We have three new templates being released as well as new digital images, cut files, and digital paper!

So let's begin with the Pretty Palette Color Challenge.  These colors are taken from the new Christmas Patina digital paper pack that will be available for purchase and use on Saturday, December 1st.

This is one of the new templates being released Saturday called Wine and Dine.  It's main purpose is to package a bottle of wine, but I'm sure the design team will have a variety of different uses for it.  I've used the Christmas Patina paper pack to decorated my box.

I used the previously released Abra-Bow-Dabra cut file and turquoise cardstock to create the bow on top of the box.  I added a taupe rose in the center.

This is a new label from the Vintage Vineyard Sentiments digtial set.  I re-colored it in GIMP using the colors from the paper and used the print and cut feature on the Silhouette Cameo to cut it out.  I added some Star Dust Stickles around the perimeter of the label for some sparkle.

Here's the box with my favorite bottle of wine.  I'm always taking wine to parties and now I have a pretty way to present it to the host/hostess!

Just Us Girls #163 - Color Challenge

Hi friends!  Are you getting ready for Thanksgiving next week?  I went shopping today for all the Thanksgiving fixings.  The store was hoppin'!  I love this time of the year, except for what comes next...all the holiday shopping!  I'm getting to dislike that part of that next holiday!

Anyway, Just Us Girls has a new color challenge for you this week and Maria chose the traditional Thanksgiving fall colors!

I have tons of fall images and this one from Flourishes called Season of Thanks caught my eye.  I love this particular image from the set.  I have some corn like this that I hang in my kitchen every fall.  I used it for inspiration for coloring the image.  I used copic markers to color it and added some star dust stickles for some sparkle.  I finished it off with this twine bow and button that I made before and found on my table.

The inspiration for my sketch came from this iSpy sketch.  My main panel is centered as opposed to being off to the right.  It just didn't look right off-center.  But I loved the CAS look of this sketch.

You can see more inspiration using these colors from my JUGs girls at these blogs.

I Think You're Awesome!

Hello friends!  My niece Maria is celebrating her 18th birthday today (her birthday is actually tomorrow, but the celebration is today!), and I wanted to make her a special card for this special day, Maria is a special girl.  She is in her first year of pre-med at the University of Buffalo.  She is very dedicated and a strong and level-headed young girl.  I so hope she can make it through all this education needed to be an anethesiologist.  I know she will try her hardest to make it!

So I created a fun card mixed with a bunch of different patterns.  The products are all PTI except for the pattern paper and cardstock.  The dp is from Bo Bunny's Hellow Sunshine collection and the cardstock from SU.  I started by cutting out the green frame using the Fabulous Frames die. Then I stamped the herrigbone pattern from Fabulous Frames on white cardstock with Cameo Coral ink.  The sentiment is from the We Go Together stamp set.  I think that one says it all!  Then I cut the bubble paper into a flag shape and die cut the numbers from Calypso Coral paper using the By the Numbers dies.  Another die from Fabulous Frames was used to cut the banner.  The sentiment is from Simple Little Things stamped in Cameo Coral.

Here's the inside.  Another flag and the sentiment stamped in Cameo Coral from Signature Greetings II.

And here is my sweet niece Maria.  Happy 18th birthday!

 Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls #162 - Technique Challenge

Happy Saturday and Happy Veteran's Day weekend!  Remember to thank a Veteran!

It's also time for a new challenge over at Just Us Girls Marisa chose a fabulous technique...making a wreath out of ribbon.  She found this great video tutorial that I had to watch a few times before mastering (sort of!) this technique.

I'm spending the weekend at a friend's chalet in a popular ski town here in Western NY and wanted to bring a little gift to thank her for putting us up (I think there will be 13 girls staying there!).  I purchased a wonderfully aromatic balsam candle and a pretty metal candleholder on a stand for the candle jar to sit in.  It just smells like the first day the Christmas tree is up in the house!

I had this kraft gift bag that I decided to use and decorate with my ribbon wreath.  I cut chocolate and olive scallop circles and another plain one from a PTI pack (Fall Prints maybe?).  Then I hot glued the weath to the circles.

Here's a closeup of the wreath.  You can see the left side is a little looser that the right.  That's the beginning of the wreath and it got tighter as I went along!  It's not perfect, but it's handmade, right?  I think the ribbon was too silky.  I had to admit that I almost didn't try this because I thought it might be too difficult and time-consuming, but I was so wrong!  This took no time at all to create once I got the hang of it!  I tied the wreath together with the same ribbon and topped it off with a button tied with twine.   I think it looks cute!

You can see more beautiful wreaths on these blogs.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have an enjoyable weekend!

Thanksgiving Dinner

Hello there!  We're having Thanksgiving dinner at our house this year and when I saw this Pure Innocence set called Turkey Time from My Favorite Things, I thought I could use it to make some cute dinner invitations.  I colored her with copic markers and paper pieced her dress.  The papers I used are from Basic Grey's Life of the Party.  It had that lovely orange color that I adore and the fun browns and blues too.  I cut her out and mounted her on dimensionals.  The Fancy Flourish die is also from MFT that replicates the steamy aroma coming from that delicious turkey!  I didn't take a picture of the inside, but it says "It's Turkey Time, Join Us for Dinner".

I used this week's sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketches and just flipped it so it worked with my image.

That's it!  I made four of these and they went in the mail this morning!  I was so happy to actually make something and put it in the mail the next day!  When does that ever happen?  LOL!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have you started planning your Thanksgiving dinner yet?

Just Us Girls #161 - Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone!  It's Saturday, my favorite day of the week!  Not only because it's a day off from work and the start of the weekend, but because it's the start of a new challenge over at Just Us Girls!  And this is my favorite week....sketch challenge week!  Lynn has a fabulous sketch for us with room for lost of interpretation.

I just love sketches like these!  I chose this large stamp from Impression Obsession that I purchased LAST YEAR and of course never inked up!  I'm glad I got the chance today to use it.  I stamped it in Memento Rich Cocoa ink and then colored just the pumpkin, leaves, boots and mat with copic markers.  Then I sponged some Antique Linen and Tea Dye distress inks around it to tone down the white.  It's mounted on Tangerine Tango paper and then Chocolate Chip.  The bottom of the chocolate piece was cut with an MFT large scallop die.  I then added some faux stitching (not sure I'm liking that).  The pattern paper is from PTI's Autumn Abundance.  I used the Bow Easy to make my bow and added a twine bow.  There are some Star Dust Stickles on the leaves for some sparkle.

I'm also trying to play more at SCS.  That's where all this started for me and I've been neglecting SCS!  So for their Inspiration Challenge, I chose this picture to inspire my stamp choice.
